Threads of Peace Event

Updated: 5 days ago

The history of symbology — the study and interpretation of symbols — spans the entire evolution of human culture and communication. In modern advertising, symbols are used to stimulate people into taking action. Given that symbols significantly influence whether we act or not, and whether that action leads to good or bad outcomes, it is essential that we strive to use symbols correctly and understand their true meanings.

I must make it clear: the symbol that earthly humankind has grown accustomed to associating with peace is, in fact, the opposite. It is a death rune, representing death, ruin, and destruction. The true peace symbol faces upward, resembling a tree stump with its first branches. Therefore, if we were to turn the commonly used peace sign upside down, we would reveal the true and correct symbol of peace, love, and harmony.

Threads of Peace, for me, is about communities coming together to forge a path forward — one rooted in inclusion, no matter our differences in race, ethnicity, culture, or belief systems. What better way to express this than through the correct symbol of peace? Imagine the impact we could have on humankind if, instead of promoting a symbol associated with death, we embraced the true peace symbol.

It’s up to each individual to consider the validity of this information and to use symbols responsibly. In conclusion, if we understand that advertising companies— especially in America — strategically use symbology to influence action, then we must also recognize the immense power symbols hold. Not just any symbols — but the correct ones.

So let us be mindful of the images we endorse and the meanings we spread. Let us choose symbols that truly represent peace, love, and harmony, and share them with intention. Imagine a world where communities unite under a symbol that genuinely uplifts and heals, rather than one rooted in misunderstanding and misrepresentation.

It starts with awareness. It continues with choice. And it grows with each of us who dares to realign with truth.

"The right Peace symbol weaves them together as if by threads of peace."
